The Fierce Harajuku – Dr Martens x Hello Kitty

Following a successful collab last month with niche menswear designer – Raf Simons, Dr Martens have teamed up with Japanese icon – Hello Kitty. Broadening their selection, this capsule collection includes: Jadons, 1461 Quads, satchels, socks, sandals and kid’s 1460s.

Originally collaborating 10 years ago, Sanrio and Dr Martens are celebrating their 60th anniversaries, and indeed in style. With Hello Kitty‘s Kawaii motifs, and Dr Marten‘s unconventional past, only Harajuku will do.

The classic Jadon silhouette is adorned with metallic laces and the signature Hello Kitty branding. The 1461 Quad follows suit in a patent finish, and the 1460s in junior sizes accompanied with red laces. Perfect for spring/summer, the release also features platform sandals crafted in vegan leather and red bows printed on the upper’s straps. All designs are decorated with a removable logo tag, adding extra oomph, vibrance and playfulness to the already ambitious collection.

What I enjoy most about this collection is the juxtaposition of the cute characteristics against the classic military silhouettes. To style, jump onto this season’s ‘good-girl-gone-bad‘ trend, and pair with flowy & feminine prairie dresses. For comfort, wear the Jadons or sandals with a slouchy boiler suit.

This collaboration is available to purchase on Dr Marten’s official wesbite, Zalando, ASOS, Tower London, Office, Surfdome, Nordstrom and Country Attire.
