Converse have been upping their game over the past year, with their recent collaborations with JW Andersen, Carhartt WIP, Off White, Brain Dead, and of course the iconic – Commes Des Garçons. This time they’re teaming up with British luxury brand – Shrimps.

Shrimps are renown for their innate sense of re-imagined vintage and fresh playfulness. Surfing through their latest SS19 collection, you can note shades of neutrals and clean silhouettes. They are like the fun side of Chanel.

Nothing can beat the classics, but there comes a time when you become bored of the same old Chucks. From a marketing point of view, it was essential for Converse to update their designs for the lifelong consumer, and appeal to a new market.

The Converse x Shrimps capsule collection features the Chuck 70s, One Stars, and apparel of sweats and hoodies. The shrimp caricatures adds those elements of youthfulness and light-hearted satire, whilst the rose motifs introduce a sense of femininity, a reminiscence of a childhood romance. The simplicity of the designs makes these pieces wearable and versatile for everyday styling.

This collaboration is available from 13th December on Converse’s and Shrimps’ official sites.
