Abi Wade is having a great 2018 so far. She’s released an utterly flawless debut album, played incredible live sets and has released a new single that laughs in the her peer’s faces, ‘Laws and Mankind.’ Glitchy electronics, soaring vocals, plucked cellos and surging swaths of glorious melodies are the order of the day. Wade’s voice is the main event here. The power, clarity and range that she possess is the perfect juxtaposition to the intricate and slightly claustrophobic music she creates. At times, her voice feels like a coastline during a storm, standing proud and undeterred by the unrelenting maelstroms that attack it.
