Florence + The Machine ~ Sky Full of Song

Florence + The Machine are back and better than ever. They’re due to release their album later this year and will be making several festival appearances this festival season.

They’re dropped their first single from the upcoming album entitled ‘Sky Full of Song‘. The video for the song is already available as well which is directed by AG Roja featuring front-woman, Florence.

This song is a different from previous songs but it really is a beautiful song. I love how the song begins with just Florence singing without any instruments and then they’re individually introduced one by one. It’s very folky and sounds celestial as if it’s something plucked from heaven.

In a statement Florence said, “This was a song that just fell out of the sky fully formed. Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling.”

I’ve been an avid fan of Florence + The Machine for many years, and I have to say, this is my favourite song by them so far. I’m really looking forward to hearing the album when it’s released and to catch them live.
